Musculoskeletal Lower Limb Scan

Musculoskeletal Lower Limb Scan

If you require a musculoskeletal ultrasound, our team here at Ultrasound Plus can offer you an ultrasound scan to highlight any damage you have in your lower limbs, such as soft tissue structures being injured or musculoskeletal disorders. Ultrasound imaging can offer us a view of deeper structures within your leg, such as muscle tears, Achilles tendon, or tendon tears.

If you would like to book an appointment with one of our sonographers for an examination to find out what damage your pain is from, get in touch with our team today. We can offer you fully comprehensive ultrasound scanning.

Our team wants to offer treatment to a range of patients; because of this, you can find out clinics in the following locations; London, Brentwood, Birmingham, Watford, Leicester, and Kingston upon Thames.

Musculoskeletal Ultrasound & Ultrasound Imaging

Our team can offer you an ultrasound scan using high-frequency sound waves to identify your soft tissues and bony structures, identifying any foreign bodies or damage that should not be there.

These imaging methods are prevalent as they are non-invasive and can give medical professionals a better understanding of what is going on with patients without surgery.

Here at Ultrasound Plus, we can offer you an ultrasound scan to get real-time imaging of the following; muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, joints and blood vessels throughout your body.

The reason to have an ultrasound is to diagnose a range of symptoms or inflammation as sprains, tears, nerve entrapments and any other musculoskeletal conditions.

Ultrasound imaging requires little to no preparation; all you are required to do is wear loose and comfortable clothes so that we can access the areas causing your pain, leave jewellery at home, and you may also be asked to wear a gown.

MSK Ultrasound & Ultrasound Scanning

If you are experiencing any abnormal swelling or pain in the following areas; hip, upper thigh, knee, ankle, calf and foot; our lower limb ultrasound will investigate the area and diagnose the cause of the problem. Our team can use an ultrasound to look at the hip joint, for example, and decide whether you have ligament damage, soft tissues damage or a condition known as rheumatoid arthritis.

This is just an example.

Our lower limb ultrasounds are also particularly useful at detecting the early changes of rheumatoid arthritis, sprains, tendon tears or masses in the lower limb area. An ultrasound can show up soft tissue changes using sound waves to help create an image on our computer to analyse and pull together a complete report.

This scan is available to patients over 18 and is performed by qualified sonographers with extensive musculoskeletal ultrasound scanning experience. Please do not wear jewellery in the area that is to be examined. Jewellery can affect the way the sound waves move through your body, and each patient needs to have a comprehensive ultrasound that offers us the chance to see any early changes in your body.

What is the purpose of a leg ultrasound?

The purpose of a leg ultrasound is to detect any underlying causes which may be causing discomfort in the patient. Sound waves emitted from the ultrasound will produce a picture of the area which can then be analysed without the need for surgery.
