Soft Tissue Ultrasound Scan & Ultrasound Imaging

Noticing a new lump or bump anywhere on your body can be quite concerning. If you’re worried about a new lump or bump, we recommend looking it at for reassurance. With an ultrasound scan, we can take a look at the area of concern using high-frequency sound waves; this makes any lumps and bumps easily identifiable. These could be soft tissue masses, ganglion cysts, or even lump trauma; try not to worry until the ultrasound scan is performed.

Our lumps and bumps ultrasound scan is designed to examine most parts of the body. It focuses on determining the cause of abnormalities in your superficial tissue (the skin and muscle).

This lumps and bumps scan is suitable for patients 18 years or older. The price stated only covers one area, any additional areas will incur an extra £130 charge per area. It will be performed by our professional sonographers who have years of musculoskeletal ultrasound scanning experience. Remove any jewellery from the affected area before attending your lumps and bumps ultrasound

Ultrasound Scans Are Non-invasive Scans

If you are worried about a specific area, swelling, pain, or soft tissue masses, having an ultrasound scan carried out is the first port of call that most clinics will use to determine the soft tissue causing you a problem. The most common cause of lumps and bumps is trauma or fluid build-up; it is not always something to be concerned about.

A sonographer will be able to provide an examination whereby we can diagnose on most occasions, sometimes with ultrasound images, we see a lump or bump that needs further investigation. During an ultrasound scan, we can look at blood vessels surrounding the lump and bump to determine whether it is something that needs treatment or is left alone.

What is the purpose of a lumps and bumps ultrasound?

If you have found a soft-tissue lump or bump anywhere on your body, you will more than likely be referred for an ultrasound scan; this is always the first-line method of examination when it comes to lump trauma. Using an ultrasound scan allows a sonographer to use sound waves to get detailed ultrasound imaging that will provide an in-depth look into the lump you have felt or specific area, swelling, pain or any other reason for concern.

Soft tissue ultrasounds are widely available in our clinic; we can use them for follow-ups or diagnosis appointments; in our safe hands, you will receive a full ultrasound report with the proper scan and all with complete ease on your part. This is because ultrasound is non-invasive.

Using the sound waves of ultrasound, we can determine whether the lumps and bumps you have felt in your body are Ganglion Cysts, Lipomas, Sebaceous Cysts, benign lumps or cancerous. Other common problems which can show on the scan are hernias, masses, cysts, and hematomas.
